Ninja Bunnies 2.0

I have done a little revamping on the ninja bunnies, as I heard from most people that they prefer the bunnies that have mean eyes. So all of the ninja bunnies at Tinsel Town will have mean eyes. They are adorable and so ninja!

There will be 23 ninja bunnies available for $5 each so come early, they may sell out fast. :)

Hope to see you there!

Tinsel Town

Tinsel Town is December 6th at the Shilling Center on Kadena. Come out for NINJA BUNNIES! Yes, I will have Ninja Bunnies just in time for Christmas! I will also have ornaments and toys on hand.

I came up with a neat idea for unique ornaments that no one else on island sells or has available. They are cute, stylish and reasonably priced! I'll post pictures as soon as I finish them up. Here is a taste of what the ninja bunnies look like :). And a few other items I will have for sale that day also.

I am working on a fresh supply of keyfobs also!

Squishy the Squid Pattern

So I finally wrote out my pattern for Squishy the Squid. I have been procrasinating long enough. I have 2 pattern testers working on him right now and I am hoping to have the pattern available in my etsy shop within the week! I started this squid as a special order for someone and I just didn't like any of the other patterns I had found, so I kinda just made him up as I went along. The recipient LOVED it and I was asked if I had a pattern for him. So, it has been a whiule and having already sold the original Squishy, I had to start over and worka nd rework the pattern. But I think the final product is awesome!! He is more of a cute squid and not a realistic looking squid, which is what I was going for when I made him.

I will let you know when it is available in my shop. I have also been working on a bunch of stuff, but haven't had time to take pics because of all the stinky rain here! Hopefully this week. I used some cool free patterns for a few things and I will post links when I post my pics!

Later taters!

Cutest Little Punky

I made this cutie for my friend/neighbor. She is super sweet and always offering to help me out when my hubby is deployed. I call it a "punky" cause that is what my sweet little 2 year old calls pumpkins.

So here is PUNKY.

Baby Starghan

I have been dying to try this pattern but have had NO time. SO I finally MADE myself try it and OMGosh!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I can't believe I didn't try it before! It looks complicated, but once you finish the first 5 or so rounds it is SUPER EASY!!! I used red heart soft in turquoise and leaf. It is soft and warm and so cool looking!!

Have a great week!!!

Halloweeny Fun

Been a week or so my last post, poor baby has been sick and I have been on the couch (literally) with her all week long. With a trip to the ER, we now have some meds and hopefully this week will go better than last!

Halloween is fast approaching and I am getting in the spirit. so I thought I would share what comes with boredom and toddler naptime.

This actually turned out REALLY well and I totally love it!! I used a pic I took of my kokeshi amigurumis that I made and used my new favorite photo editing program.

So Happy Halloweeny Everyone!!

Yarn Boobie

So I was joking with my husband and saying that I was going to crochet him and his fellow deployed airman some boobs and send them to them. Well, I finished one and am mailing it out to him tomorrow. When I get time, I am going to make a few more and send them out to him to pass around to everyone! Ha ha ha He was telling me how other wives were sending cookies... HA, cookies! Who wants cookies when you can have boobies!!!

Free as a Bird

Finally finished with my big order, YAY!! So I am taking a break from orders and from Market Day this month. I hope to be back at Market Day again in November though. I am making myself a tote bag in my favorite color, maroon/burgandy/wine. It is gorgeous! I have to take a break from making what other people want and make what I want for a little while. I LOVE to crochet, but I feel like i am getting burnt out. And if I ever really hated crocheting, that would be horrifying!! So I'll take a break and make some fun stuff I have been waiting to work on. I told my hubby, I am gonna make things that I want to make and if people would like to purchase them great, if not, that's okay, because I am enjoying myself and that is all that matters. And I just found out that my best friend is having a boy!!!! So I am all set to make her TONS of stuff!!! My etsy shop is still up and running, although I may not be able to add new things as quickly as I would like. But that's life. I was never really in this for the money anyway. The most joy I get is from creating something that brings a smile and happiness into someone else's life. I am off to work on my tote bag!!!
Oh and I still have some peek-a-boo bunnies available and will be taking special orders for these since they are sewn and not crocheted. :)

Kokeshi Madness

These are adorable. I know I posted one before, but I just had to post my kokeshi minions pictures. This pattern is great because you can change colors, and accessories and facial features to make each one unique. So feast your eyes upon the wonders of the crochet kokeshi dolls.

Cheese, please!

I also sent this with the pouch & fob for Zelda_suicide on craftster. The cheese image was on her wists and since I couldn't find a plain shirt in the right size, I cut a stencil and printed it onto a very soft fleece. Then I made arms & legs and sewed him up and stuffed him. It is for her 3 year old little boy. My boys are older and they said it was cool and my 2 year old said "Mine, mine!" as she tried to pry it from my hands, so I am assuming he'll like it! I think it is adorable. And so here is the "Cheese ,please!" stuffie.

Mmmmm...64 slices of American cheese! --(Homer)

Swap a loppa

I'm a dork, trying to think of a catchy title. I think it is fair to say you can tell I have kids from from my rhyming title! :) Anyhoo, some new projects I have been working on. My 2 year old has (on her own) become obsessed with the music of The Ramones, cool kid, I know! When the song ends or when I switch to another song she freaks out, so apparently that is her favorite band. I didn't know 2 year olds could have a favorite band. Anyway, she of course needed a shirt to proclaim her love of their music. So here is the toddler Ramones shirt I made for her. I don't think it turned out that great, but it'll do until I can make a fancier one!

And I just got a super swap package from zelda_suicide on craftster. SHe sent me a box chock full o' goodies, fabrics, yarns, etc. So as a thank you I made her this super cool pouch & key fob. She said she is obsessed with zelda and that she loves pink with brown, and so this was born. I am not a zelda fanatic, by any means, but I really like this!

Sorry it's been awhile since I posted, I have been working on a huge special order, but it is nearing completion!! YAY!!

A Very Productive Day

I managed to start about 5 projects today and actually finished 2 of them! YAY!

One was stenciled halloween treat bags. My neighbor wanted her children's names on the bags, so i cut some stencils and painted those up. (done)

Then I had a special order from Market Day for a key fob & zippered pouch combo. The design on these is simple, but the fabric is what makes these super sweet! (done)

I also started 5 more stencils for some projects I am working on.

Here is a pic of the keyfob & pouch...

Super cute bunny. At first I was unsure of the yellow, but once I found the perfect fabric for the inside of the ears, it became my favorite!

This elephant was made as a special order for someone to decorate their baby's room. I love this fabric!

Super squishy hippo, also for same special order as above!

For the elephant and hippo, I drew my own pattern out and then made them.

Oh, and for anyone keeping track, AAFES has FINALLY graced us with the option of buying THE OFFICE SEASON 4!! Only like a month after everyone else in the world was able to get their grubby little mitts on it!

That being said, all color choices and handstitching WERE done by me! :)

Working Mama

A funny thing happened this week. My son asked me if I have a job. The question caught me off guard. I told him, "Well, yes, I have MANY jobs, I just DON'T get paid for any of them!". Funny, yet completely true. And of course my oldest saw the look on my face when I was asked this question and proceeded to list for his brother all of my many "jobs".
Hopefully I will have pics of the capes and masks and bags up here by tomorrow night. They are almost done. Also the bunnies need their ears sewn on and their faces embroidered, I stuffed em' all REAL good last night! Hee hee hee Yes, I'm a dork and making myself laugh right now!
Some more recent projects. One of my favorites is this shark hat from a free pattern at BZ Crochet. Here is the link to the free pattern.

All of the little boys are getting these for Christmas this year!
This is a painting I did for an Easter Swap this year.
Peeps ROCK!
And last but not least, my favorite onesie that I have made so far.
Pac-man & ghosts!
So cool!

Market Day Update

Market Day is next Saturday, Sept. 27 from 10am-3pm at the Shilling Center on Kadena Air Base. Come on out and support the crafty people. Buy handmade for Christmas, buy handmade for baby gifts, just buy handmade. :) My friend Sara and I will have halloween costumes for kids for sale, handmade, of course!

Sara will also be available for custom baby sling orders. And as always I will have a table full of cuteness. I am working on some really soft fleece bunnies with long ears that are totally huggable and squeezable! I am gonna TRY to finish up some ninja bunnies this week to add to my table also. No new amigurumis this month as I am working numerous custom orders right now, but as soon as I am done with those orders, I will have fresh amis available!

Please tell all your friends here in Okinawa to come on down to Market Day. Buy your Christmas gifts early. :)

Hope to see you all there!

I will only be able to take a limited amount of custom orders before Christmas, so if you are wanting to place an order please do so soon. :)
Also, anything not sold at Market Day will be added to my etsy shop on Sept 27 or 28.

And for anyone who visits my site to see fun stuff I have made here are a few things I have made this past year....

Sickly Feeling

Stinking weather is making me feel like I am catching a cold, or maybe the kids brought it home from school for me. I hate being sick and I am not as productive when I am sick. And I don't mind the rain, we needed it, but the fact that it stays dry for months and then decides to dump lakes and oceans on us all in the span of a few days... Come on! And dumb me, who has lived here for 3 years, still hasn't bought myself a raincoat. The kids each have one, but not me. Apparently I like being wet and having to change clothes after running errands! Ha ha ha

Anyway, I wasn't feeling well, but needed to do SOMETHING. So I finished this super cute hat. It is the puffy slouch hat that everyone has been making. It is so cool and I have been saving my "good" yarn for just such a project. I used Patons SWS (soy/wool), it is soft and the color changes look amazing on this hat! Almost like this yarn was made with this hat in mind! I may have a seriously hard time parting with this rockin' hat!
